A Leap to the International Stage
From July 7 to 13, 2025, Vukovar’s state-of-the-art Swimming Complex will welcome university teams from across Europe. After successfully hosting five national UniSport H2O competitions in swimming and water polo, Vukovar is stepping into the international spotlight.
According to Dr. Željko Sudarić, Dean of the University of Applied Sciences “Lavoslav Ružička” in Vukovar:
"This championship is the largest student sports event for our university and the city of Vukovar. We are confident it will attract students from across Europe and highlight Vukovar and Croatia on the international stage."

Dr. Sudarić also emphasized the collective effort behind this achievement, thanking the city of Vukovar, the Vukovarsko-srijemska County, and the Croatian Academic Sports Federation for their support.
A City Revitalized by Sports
Vukovar’s history, shaped by resilience and reconstruction, makes this championship particularly meaningful. Hosting such a prestigious event underscores the city's commitment to progress and the role sports can play in community rebuilding. The modern infrastructure, including the Vukovar Sports Facilities Pool and the Leopold Student Dormitory, stands as a testament to Vukovar's readiness to embrace its future as a vibrant hub for students and athletes.
For students and spectators, the event offers a chance to experience not only thrilling water polo matches but also the rich cultural and historical heritage of Vukovar. From the serene banks of the Danube to the city's iconic landmarks, visitors will find plenty to explore beyond the competition.
